What We Believe

The Bible: God's Word is inspired and carries with it His full authority over our lives. His word tells us who He is, who we are, and how we are to live our lives in His world.

God: There is only One God, in 3 Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All 3 Persons are eternal, not created.

The Father is the One to whom all praise, honor and, glory is due. He has created everything seen and unseen, along with the Second and Third Persons of the Trinity. The Father demonstrated His love for the world by sending His Son to die in the place of sinners.

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and God the Son. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died on the cross in the place of sinners and rose again from the dead. Right now, He is sitting at the right hand of the Father, ruling and praying for His people. Jesus will return to earth, to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords. He will sit on His throne and render judgment to all people.

The Holy Spirit is active in the life of every person. In non-Christians, He convicts them of their sin and their need for salvation in Christ. In Christians, He comforts, guides, teaches, convicts of sin, and empowers them to know and serve God, and care for people.

Every person is made in God's image and likeness from the moment of conception; therefore, all human life is sacred. The image of God extends to maleness and femaleness, an unchangeable gift given to us by our Creator at the moment of conception. Marriage is a divine institution, exclusive to one man and one woman in the sight of God.

Salvation: Every person needs forgiveness of sins found in Christ alone. A person is made right with God through turning away from sin and putting one's full faith in Christ and the gospel He brings.

Future State of People: A Christian is one who has received salvation found in Christ alone. He or she has been saved from sin's penalty, is being saved from sin's power and will be saved from sin's presence, and live in God's presence forever. Every person who dies having rejected salvation in Christ will spend forever in the place the Lord Jesus calls hell.
